EYFS

Children’s early experiences up to the age of 5, are proven to have a major impact on the rest of their life, so it’s critical they get the kindness and support they need to fulfill their potential, and get the best possible start in life.
Good parenting, along with early years spent with experienced, passionate and kind teachers, will give them the confidence to make the most of their ability and talent.

Key EYFS areas
Communication
& Language
Learning how to talk and get your point across has a lot to do with confidence. Our nurturing staff give children the space and support they need, to quickly find their confidence and get talking, listening and having conversations.
Personal, Social and
Emotional Development
In our personal, social and emotional development work, we help children to develop a positive sense of themselves and a respect for others - so they’re able to form happy and healthy relationships. They also learn social skills - how to be kind and thoughtful to others; how to manage their feelings and have confidence in their own ability.
Physical
Development
In physical development we encourage children to get active and interactive with others, to help develop their co-ordination, control and movement. Children also learn the importance of exercise, and to make healthy choices when it comes to eating.

Specific Educational Areas
Literacy
During literacy, we help children to link sounds and letters so they can begin to read and write. Plus we give children access to a wide range of reading materials (fiction, non-fiction, poetry etc.) to get them hooked and into the habit of reading.
Understanding the world
To give children a better understanding of our world, we help them make sense of their community and physical world - through exploring, observing and learning more about people, places, technology and the environment.
Maths
In our progressively technology-driven world, Maths is more important than ever. In Maths lessons, children begin to learn number skills - like counting, simple addition and subtraction and how to describe shapes and spaces.
Art & Design
In art and design, children get to explore and play with a range of media and materials. They’re encouraged to express themselves - share their thoughts, ideas and feelings - through activities such as art, music, movement, dance, role-play, design and technology.
